Brothels in Kiambu, Kenya

Due to the harsh economic conditions in Kenya, many girls have resorted to sex work and prostitution to make ends meet. There are many brothels in Kiambu, specifically because of its proximity to Nairobi. Though not an obvious knowledge, Kiambu houses many brothels that operate at town centers and residential areas. The government cracks down on prostitution and brothels but much effort has not been done to eradicate the social ill. With the digital world, sex workers have found ways to escape authorities with less sex workers found in the streets awaiting their customers. The digital world makes it challenging for authorities in Kiambu to crack down on brothels and prostitution dens.
